Groovebox is a modular, flat-pack collection of modern fire pits, barbecues, furniture, and planters, featuring the innovative and patented Groovebox assembly system. Designed for efficiency and style, the products are mass-produced in China and distributed globally. Acquired by Venture Pro, Shenzhen Jumbowise.
My Role:
2015-2020
Founder, President, Partner
Increased revenue and visibility using new, engaging designs based on market research and trend analysis. Created a full understanding of the target demographic’s needs and the products and features needed to grow sales. Directed all aspects of product development for 100+ SKUs as well as the design of global go-to-market strategies.
Formed and managed a global operations team covering account management, finance, supply chain, design, manufacturing, marketing, and sales. Established a factory partnership in China to enable large-scale production and global distribution
Developed a full collection of innovative outdoor living products; fire features, barbecues, outdoor furniture, and planters.
Invented the Groovebox modular system and assembly method which was awarded with both utility and design patents for its technical achievements.
Broke new ground with untapped markets by attending 25+ trade shows and distributor events including the National Hardware Show, Atlanta Mart, Casual Outdoor Living, SPOGA GAFA, Dwell On Design, IGC, ASLA, True Value, Ace Hardware, etc.
Cultivated new relationships with Fortune 100-500 retailers, e-commerce retailers, and distributors to generate a steady stream of new business opportunities.
Scaled revenue to 7 figures. Acquired by factory partner in 2020.

MERCHANDISING
The unique flat-pack concept behind Groovebox allows for a significantly smaller packaging box in comparison to other products. Groovebox products feature high quality color packaging and case packs for attractive retail display.
DISTRIBUTION
The flat-pack design allows Groovebox to be easily and efficiently packaged, shipped and distributed globally. The flat-pack design significantly reduces both carbon and shipping cost by fitting more in a shipping container. We have experience in all export matters and can handle international shipping to your destination.
